Description
The pyroglyphid mite Dermatophagoides farinae is one of the main components of house dust. Mite allergens are synthesized in the mite's organism and released into the environment along with its feces. They easily rise into the air during cleaning and stay airborne for up to 20 minutes, settling on the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract, quickly dissolving, and penetrating the human body. Allergy can manifest as diseases such as atopic dermatitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema, allergic rhinitis, and allergic conjunctivitis. The determination of specific immunoglobulin G is used for the diagnosis of delayed allergic reactions, as well as for monitoring the therapy conducted.
