Description
The main, clinically significant dog allergen is lipocalin. It is mainly associated with larger particles (more than 9 µm) than the cat allergen e1. Often, in patients with sensitization to dog allergens, allergic reactions to other animals, such as cats, can be observed due to cross-reactivity. It is stable in the environment and can be detected for up to six months on dust particles in the allergic person's apartment.
