Allergen f10 - Sesame / Sesamum indicum, IgE (ImmunoCAP)

Description

Sesame, when considered as an etiological factor in food allergy, is classified as having a high degree of allergenic activity (without taking individual characteristics into account). In the case of an allergic reaction to sesame, symptoms such as rashes, swelling, stomach discomfort, asthma, and eczema are possible, up to the development of systemic reactions such as anaphylactic shock. The determination of an elevated level of specific immunoglobulin E to this allergen indicates an acute allergic reaction (immediate-type hypersensitivity).
