Description
White beans are classified as having a low degree of allergenicity as an etiological factor in food allergy (not taking into account individual characteristics). They quite rarely cause allergic reactions, but such reactions are possible and can manifest as rash, edema, stomach discomfort, asthma, and eczema. Elevated levels of specific immunoglobulin E to this allergen indicate an acute allergic reaction (immediate-type hypersensitivity).
