Description
Apricots as an etiological factor in food allergy are considered to have a moderate degree of allergenic activity (without taking individual characteristics into account). Such manifestations as diseases of the digestive system (allergic stomatitis, cheilitis, gastritis, colitis, gastroenteritis), skin (atopic dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema), and respiratory organs (allergic rhinitis, asthma) are most common. A cross-allergy to tree pollen and to allergens of plum fruits and peanuts is observed quite often. The determination of an increased amount of specific immunoglobulin E to this allergen indicates the presence of sensitization of the organism to this allergen.
