Description
Cherry as an etiological factor of food allergy is classified as having a moderate degree of allergenicity (without taking into account individual characteristics). The most common manifestations include diseases of the digestive system (allergic stomatitis, cheilitis, gastritis, colitis, gastroenteritis), the skin (atopic dermatitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema), and the respiratory system (allergic rhinitis, asthma). Cross-allergy to tree pollen (birch, alder, hazel) is often observed. The determination of specific immunoglobulin E to this allergen in an increased amount indicates the presence of sensitization of the body to this allergen.
