Description
Walnut, as an etiological factor of food allergy, is classified as having a high degree of allergenic activity (without taking individual characteristics into account). Walnut is used in the manufacture of confectionery, therefore, if there is sensitization to this allergen, it is necessary to avoid eating such food products. Cross-allergy to tree pollen (birch, alder, hazel) is often observed. An allergic reaction to nuts, including walnuts, can often occur in the form of a severe attack of bronchial asthma.
