Description
Mussels, as an etiological factor of food allergy, are classified as having high allergenic activity (excluding individual characteristics). Manifestations of allergy can include digestive system disorders (allergic stomatitis, cheilitis, gastritis, colitis, gastroenteritis, irritable bowel syndrome), skin manifestations (atopic dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema), and respiratory system disorders (allergic rhinitis, bronchial asthma). Cross-allergic reactions to almost all seafood are very often observed.
