Description
Apples, as an etiological factor of food allergy, are classified as having a low degree of allergenic activity (without taking into account individual characteristics). A cross-allergic reaction to tree pollen (especially birch) is very often observed. Allergy manifestations may include digestive system disorders (cheilitis, gastritis, colitis, gastroenteritis, irritable bowel syndrome), skin manifestations (atopic dermatitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema), while respiratory system disorders (allergic rhinitis, asthma) occur rarely.
