Description
Peaches, as an etiological factor of food allergy, are classified as having a moderate degree of allergenic activity (without taking into account individual characteristics). The most common manifestations are diseases of the digestive system (allergic stomatitis, cheilitis, gastritis, colitis, gastroenteritis), skin (atopic dermatitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema), and respiratory organs (allergic rhinitis, asthma). Cross-allergy to tree pollen (birch, alder, hazel) and latex is often observed. Consumption of peaches is contraindicated in aspirin-induced bronchial asthma. The detection of increased amounts of specific immunoglobulin E to this allergen indicates the presence of sensitization of the organism to this allergen.
