Description
Avocado contains high concentrations of biologically active amines, including tyramine (which is directly involved in the mechanisms of allergic reactions). Due to this, pseudoallergic reactions may occur. The most common manifestations are diseases of the digestive system (allergic stomatitis, cheilitis, gastritis, colitis, gastroenteritis), skin (atopic dermatitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema), and respiratory organs (allergic rhinitis, asthma). The determination of specific immunoglobulin E to this allergen in increased amounts indicates the presence of sensitization of the body to this allergen.
