Description
Pollen allergy is the most common type of allergy, which usually has a seasonal character and coincides with the flowering periods of plants to whose pollen sensitization exists. The onset of allergy to corn silk pollen is directly related to their flowering period (July - August). The allergy manifests with profuse lacrimation, discharge from the nasal cavity; less frequently with skin manifestations; in severe cases with attacks of suffocation, urticaria, Quincke's edema, seasonal pollen dermatitis with severe itching and various rashes. The determination of elevated levels of specific immunoglobulin E to this allergen indicates the presence of sensitization of the organism to this allergen.
