Description
Quantitative determination in the blood of specific antibodies, class E immunoglobulins, appearing in the presence of an allergic reaction to house dust (allergen manufactured by Greer Labs., Inc). This analysis is used: for the diagnosis of allergic diseases (bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, respiratory allergosis, atopic dermatitis); to assess the risk of developing allergic reactions to house dust. This analysis is prescribed: in the presence of the following symptoms indicating an allergic nature: redness and burning of the eye mucous membrane, lacrimation and eyelid edema, nasal congestion, sneezing, cough, shortness of breath, bronchospasm, etc.; in case of continuously recurrent course of respiratory diseases without remission periods; in case of polyvalent nature of sensitization, when it is impossible to conduct in vivo testing with suspected allergens; in case of false-positive or false-negative skin testing results; to children if their parents suffer from allergic diseases, including those manifested upon contact with house dust.
