Description
Moth allergens can be found in house dust and play an important role in the pathogenesis of respiratory allergoses. Sources of moth allergens are the waste products of these insects, as well as the bodies of dead individuals. Allergic reactions to moths most often manifest as allergic dermatosis, urticaria, rhinitis, and bronchial asthma. Determination of specific immunoglobulin E to this allergen in increased amounts indicates the presence of sensitization of the organism to this allergen.
