Description
Analysis for the determination of specific immunoglobulin E in blood to cobalt - a metal that is sometimes part of dental materials, and can also act as an occupational allergen in workers of certain enterprises. The analysis is able to detect only the active form of allergy, when the body has already encountered cobalt and has a pool of accumulated IgE. Thus, a negative result of the study is not a guarantee that an allergic reaction to this metal will not develop. The study is conducted only for type 1 allergic reactions. A negative test result cannot guarantee the absence of an allergic reaction of another type.
