Description
Staphylococcal enterotoxin B is, by nature, a protein that acts as an allergen. Manifestations of allergic reactions to staphylococcal enterotoxin A may include atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and diseases of the digestive system (allergic stomatitis, cheilitis, gastritis, colitis, gastroenteritis). The determination of specific IgG in the blood primarily indicates the entry of this allergen into the organism; furthermore, it is believed that an increased concentration of specific IgG in the blood contributes to a reduction in the manifestations of immediate-type allergic reactions mediated by IgE and to the formation of delayed-type hypersensitivity.
