Description
Anisakis Larvae is a nematode helminth that parasitizes the intestines of humans and animals and causes the development of a disease such as anisakiasis. Allergens of this parasite include the parasite itself, its metabolic products, and its larvae. Allergic reactions are quite common in anisakiasis. Manifestations of these reactions can range from skin eruptions such as various rashes and urticaria to severe systemic manifestations like Quincke's edema and anaphylactic reactions. The detection of specific immunoglobulin E to this allergen in increased amounts indicates the presence of sensitization of the organism to this allergen.
