Description
The most common type of allergy is pollen allergy, which typically is seasonal and coincides with the flowering periods of plants to whose pollen there is sensitization. The onset of allergy to eucalyptus pollen is directly linked to its flowering period (September - October). The allergy generally manifests as profuse lacrimation, nasal discharge; less frequently as skin manifestations; in severe cases as attacks of breathlessness, urticaria, Quincke's edema, seasonal pollen dermatitis with severe itching and various rashes. The detection of elevated levels of specific immunoglobulin E to this allergen indicates the presence of sensitization of the organism to this allergen.
