Allergen t8 - Elm, IgE

Description

The most common type of allergy is pollen allergy, which, as a rule, has a seasonal character and is timed to the flowering periods of plants to whose pollen there is sensitization. The occurrence of allergy to elm pollen is directly related to its flowering period (end of April – end of May). Cases of cross-allergic reaction to the pollen of birch, oak, alder, hazel, and to certain food allergens (apples, pears, peaches, cherries, kiwi, hazelnuts and walnuts) occur quite often. The allergy manifests as profuse lacrimation, nasal discharge; less often as skin manifestations; in severe cases as attacks of suffocation, urticaria, Quincke's edema, seasonal pollen dermatitis with severe itching and various rashes. Determination of specific immunoglobulin E to this allergen in increased amounts indicates the presence of sensitization of the organism to this allergen.
