Description
Fecal occult blood test is a stool analysis performed to detect occult bleeding from various parts of the gastrointestinal tract. It allows detecting altered hemoglobin of erythrocytes even when the erythrocytes themselves are not determined during microscopic examination of the stool. The analysis is aimed at identifying "occult blood", invisible during macro- and microscopic examination.
It is not recommended to store the biomaterial in the refrigerator for more than 4 hours before submission to the Center. It is best to deliver it to the Center as soon as possible.
