Description
Antibodies to Scl-70 (anti-scleroderma antibodies with a molecular weight of 70 kDa, antibodies to topoisomerase I) appear more often in the diffuse (40%), less often in the limited (20%) form of systemic scleroderma, CREST syndrome. They are highly specific for scleroderma and are a poor prognostic sign regarding the development of pulmonary fibrosis.
