Description
Antibodies to the renal glomerular basement membrane are a marker of rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis. They are most often detected in Goodpasture's syndrome or disease, but can also be formed in other forms of glomerulonephritis, though they are detected in much lower titers. The study is used for the diagnosis of rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis, monitoring the course of the disease, and assessing the effectiveness of therapy.
