Description
Determination of class G antibodies to Chlamydia trachomatis heat shock protein (cHSP60) allows diagnosing the persistent form of chlamydial infection.
HSP60 is present in both reticulate bodies and elementary bodies of chlamydia, but active synthesis of this protein begins only during non-productive latent infection, such as persistent chlamydial infection.
