Description
Anti-beta2-glycoprotein antibodies are a highly specific and sensitive marker for the diagnosis of antiphospholipid syndrome only when simultaneously determining antiphospholipid antibodies. Beta2-glycoprotein is a cofactor that determines the binding of antiphospholipid antibodies to cell membrane phospholipids in APS. The test is used to diagnose the disease and to assess the risk of thrombotic complications in antiphospholipid syndrome.
Total antibodies are determined.
