Description
Candida albicans is part of the normal intestinal microflora; however, in some cases, increased growth of these microorganisms leads to an imbalance and the development of candidiasis. Microorganisms or cytoplasmic antigens of C. albicans stimulate the development of an immune response, resulting in the production of specific antibodies to Candida albicans antigens. At the first stage, immunoglobulins of the IgM class are produced. Detection of IgM immunoglobulins to fungi of the Candida genus can be used for the diagnosis of candidiasis of various etiologies in combination with microbiological diagnostics and taking into account the clinical symptoms of the disease.
