Description
IgA antibodies to chlamydia provide a local immune response on mucous membranes. They begin to be detected 3-4 weeks (sometimes up to 8) after infection. The antibody titer increases during the development of the disease, decreasing several weeks after the illness. With an exacerbation of chronic infection or re-infection, a new rise in antibody levels occurs.
