Chlamydia trachomatis, IgM

Description

Class IgM antibodies to chlamydia appear first in response to the introduction of the pathogen into the body. Most often, they can be determined in sufficient quantity for diagnosis as early as the 5th day after infection. A feature of this class of antibodies is their complete disappearance 2-3 months after infection, regardless of whether specific therapy was carried out or not. In case of process chronicity, subsequent infection relapses, or reinfection, this class of antibodies is not detected in the blood. The test serves for the early diagnosis of primary chlamydial infection.
