Description
As a result of acute cerebrovascular accident, a large amount of NMDA receptor NR2 subunits is released into the bloodstream. In response to the appearance of the NR2 peptide, production of IgG autoantibodies begins. They are regulatory and are present in small quantities in a healthy person as well. With increasing chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency, the content of antibodies to the NR2 peptide in the blood increases, and they can be used as predictors of the risk of an impending "ischemic catastrophe".
