Description
Detection of IgG class antibodies using ELISA is used for the early diagnosis of trichinellosis. Depending on the intensity of Trichinella invasion, the timing of the appearance of antibodies in diagnostically significant titers may vary. With high intensity of invasion, antibodies can be detected as early as 14-20 days after infection; if the intensity of invasion was low, antibodies in the blood may not be detected for up to 6 weeks. IgG are detected in sufficiently high concentrations for a long time after treatment (from 2 years).
