Description
Trichomonas vaginalis infection causes the development of an immune response with the appearance of specific IgG class antibodies in the blood. They do not provide full protection against the pathogen but indicate a current or past infection. An increase in antibody titer is noted as early as 7-10 days after infection. Examination of this indicator over time allows drawing a conclusion about the acute or chronic course of the disease and evaluating the effectiveness of the therapy being conducted.
