Description
IgG antibodies to cytomegalovirus are specific immunoglobulins produced in the human body during the period of pronounced clinical manifestations of cytomegalovirus infection and serve as a serological marker of this disease, as well as of past cytomegalovirus infection. IgG antibodies to cytomegalovirus appear 2-4 weeks after infection; their level in the blood persists for up to 10 years and can serve as a sign of past disease. The test is quantitative.
