Antibodies to Cytomegalovirus (IgG) with avidity determination

Description

Examination of the concentration of IgG class antibodies in the blood combined with the determination of IgG avidity allows for the most accurate determination of the presence of infection in the body and the stage of the infectious process. IgG class antibodies to cytomegalovirus appear 2-4 weeks after infection; their level in the blood persists for up to 10 years and can serve as a sign of past disease. Determination of IgG class antibody avidity is necessary to obtain data on the duration of infection (the higher the avidity, the "older" the antibodies and the lower the probability of primary infection and acute infection). This test is most often used to determine the risk of complications during pregnancy and when planning it.
