Description
The test is used to assess the effectiveness of vaccination against typhoid fever. Antibodies appear in the blood in quantities sufficient to form an adequate immune response 2-3 weeks after vaccine administration and persist for up to 3 years. This study is of less value in the diagnosis of the disease but can be successfully used to detect bacterial carriage in unvaccinated individuals.
