Description
The study is intended for the detection of IgG class antibodies to various antigens of the rubella virus, which allows differentiating the stage of infection. Rubella is caused by the Rubella virus, an enveloped virus belonging to the Rubivirus genus of the Togaviridae family. The disease most often occurs in childhood. Several clinical forms of the disease are distinguished: typical, atypical, inapparent (asymptomatic), and congenital rubella, which develops during intrauterine infection. It can also develop after inapparent rubella in the mother. Infection of the fetus during pregnancy poses the greatest danger – in this case, the formation of multiple defects (cataracts, heart defects, microcephaly, and deafness) is observed.
