Description
Class G immunoglobulins to Herpes Simplex Virus are found in the blood of the overwhelming majority of the adult population. For the above-mentioned reasons, a single determination of the IgG antibody titer is not diagnostically significant; it is recommended to evaluate the results of 2-3 studies performed with an interval of 7-10 days. In case of reinfection with the herpes simplex virus, an increase in the titers of antibodies of this class is observed, in the absence of significant dynamics on the part of IgM. In primary infection, there is a combined increase in IgG and IgM titers.
