Description
Class M immunoglobulins to Herpes Simplex Virus appear in the blood 2-3 weeks after infection, the titer reaches maximum values after 4-6 weeks, and progressively decreases 2-3 months after the past infection. Upon reinfection with Herpes Simplex Virus, a repeated increase in IgM titers does not occur. To objectify the results of laboratory diagnosis of herpes infection, simultaneous serological testing of blood for IgM and IgG to the pathogen is recommended. Upon receipt of a positive test result, the CP is indicated.
