Description
Determination of IgG class antibodies is used to assess immunity to the infection. IgG antibodies appear during the convalescence period and are detected in the blood of individuals who have had the disease throughout their lives; however, their presence does not guarantee lifelong immunity, therefore, upon weakening of the body's protective properties, reactivation of the infection in the form of shingles is possible.
