Description
Determination of antibody titer is used in the diagnosis of diphtheria infection and evaluation of the effectiveness of vaccination with antidiphtheria vaccine. Antibodies appear in the blood on days 1-3 of the disease and persist in high titers for several weeks. To confirm the diagnosis, it is recommended to conduct two tests on days 1-3 and 7-10 of the illness. To determine indications for vaccination, as well as to evaluate its effectiveness, studies are carried out before the administration of the vaccine (after which the need for vaccination is assessed) and after it, evaluating the antibody titer in dynamics.
