Description
Diphenin (Phenytoin, Diphentoin, Hydantoinal, Sodanton, Alepsin, Diphenylhydantoin, Diphedan, Eptoin, Hydantal, Fengidon, Solantoin) is an antiepileptic and antiarrhythmic agent from the group of hydantoin derivatives. A distinctive feature of the drug is the absence of a hypnotic effect with a pronounced anticonvulsant action. In addition to epilepsy therapy, the drug is used to treat arrhythmias, in particular, those arising against the background of cardiac glycoside overdose. Monitoring of Diphenin concentration in plasma is recommended every 2-4 weeks with continuous intake of the drug.
