Description
A comprehensive study allowing the determination of the level of steroid hormones and their metabolites in 24-hour urine. Synthesis of estrogens in women is carried out by the ovarian follicular apparatus. In women, estrogens ensure the normal development and functioning of the reproductive system. Estrogens are represented by three forms: estrone (folliculin) – E1, estradiol – E2 and estriol – E3, which have different physiological activity.
Composition of the study
• Estradiol
• Estrone
• Estriol
• 2-hydroxyestrone (2-OHE1)
• 2-hydroxyestradiol (2-OHE2)
• 4-hydroxyestrone (4-OHE1)
• 16a-hydroxyestrone (16a-OHE1)
• 2-methoxyestrone (2-OMeE1)
• 4-methoxyestrone (4-OMeE1)
• Pregnanediol
• Ratio 2-OHE1/2-OMeE1
• Ratio 4-OHE1/4-OMeE1
• Ratio (2-OHE1 + 2-OHE2)/16a-OHE1
• Ratio 2-OMeE1/2-OHE1
• Ratio 4-OMeE1/4-OHE1
The study is intended for persons over 18 years of age. Research results are issued in accordance with reference ranges for women of childbearing age over 18 years old and in postmenopause, and for men over 18 years old of reproductive age without reproductive health problems.
When registering requests for women, it is mandatory to indicate the presence/absence of pregnancy.
Women of reproductive age with a regular menstrual cycle are recommended to submit 24-hour urine in the luteal phase of the cycle.
Reference values for the menstrual, follicular, and ovulatory phases are not calculated for the following indicators:
• 2-hydroxyestrone (2-OHE1);
• 4-hydroxyestrone (4-OHE1);
• 16a-hydroxyestrone (16a-OHE1);
• 2-methoxyestrone (2-OMeE1);
• 4-methoxyestrone (4-OMeE1);
• 2-hydroxyestradiol (2-OHE2).
Period of execution
