Femoflor II

Description

"Femoflor" — PCR tests for comprehensive assessment of the urogenital tract microbiota in women, developed by Russian scientists and expert physicians in 2008. Scientific discoveries and technical capabilities have made it possible to expand the view of the clinical significance of microbiota. "Femoflor" includes, among others, microorganisms that have been identified recently.

"Femoflor" implements a comprehensive approach to assessing the female microbiome — the balance of the vaginal microbiota is evaluated by comparing the proportions of different microorganism groups within the total bacterial mass. This makes it possible to see the full picture of the microbiome state and reliably identify the dominant microbiota groups associated with symptom development. This innovative approach, created and introduced into clinical practice by DNA-Technology, has important advantages over other diagnostic methods: bacterial typing, virus detection, diagnosis of mixed or anaerobic dysbiosis. This principle is used in the "Femoflor" tests.

The "Femoflor II" test is a universal test for assessing the state of the female microbiota with maximum capabilities. It is intended for comprehensive quantitative assessment of the urogenital tract microbiota in women by real-time PCR. It includes detailed assessment of the normobiota (determination of the content of lactobacilli and bifidobacteria, typing of lactobacilli), an expanded list of opportunistic microorganisms (OM), as well as detection of pathogens (major sexually transmitted infections (STIs), herpes viruses, and human papillomaviruses (HPV)).

Lactobacillus typing allows a conclusion about how effectively the normobiota performs its protective function. The expanded list of OM makes it possible to accurately identify the etiological agents of disease and correctly select therapy. The main causative agents of STIs — Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma genitalium, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis — may often be present asymptomatically or manifest with subtle symptoms. Their inclusion in "Femoflor" makes it possible to verify their absence as etiological agents for further correct determination of the cause of dysbiotic disturbances and selection of therapy to restore the microbiome.

The study is informative only for women of reproductive age.

Urogenital swab collection in pregnant women is performed only by a physician by prior appointment via the Contact Center phone +7 (800) 700 03 03.

For girls and women who are not sexually active, urogenital swab collection requires a mandatory appointment with a physician via the Helix Contact Center phone +7 (800) 700 03 03.

Advantages of the test

Expanded and optimized spectrum of detectable microorganisms — description of microflora composition with a clinically significant degree of detail.
More informative assessment of normobiota for women of different ages.
Quantitative determination of group B streptococcus — particularly important during preparation for pregnancy and during pregnancy.
Monitoring for the presence of obligate pathogens — exclusion of cases of asymptomatic and subtle course of infections.
Detection of reproductively significant viral infections.
Modern form of information presentation — a clear result form with an individual comment, infographics, and a QR code — a system of visual markers and text explanations for clinical evaluation of the result.
Specialized information resource femoflor.online — assistance in interpreting the result via the personal QR code on the form.
