Description
Chronic hepatitis C is a disease caused by the hepatitis C virus and is the main cause of the development of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. The disease is curable with the use of direct-acting antiviral agents; however, mutations of the hepatitis C virus itself can lead to the development of resistance to therapy.
