Description
Histological examination is the study of tissues (samples of tissue taken from the human body). Histological examination is the most important in the diagnosis of malignant tumors. The material for examination is most often tissue obtained by biopsy. This is small surgical material (gallbladder, appendix, skin/subcutaneous neoplasms, tonsils, lymph nodes, breast resection, etc.). This method serves as the main method for differential diagnosis of malignant and benign neoplasms.
When delivering biological material to the diagnostic center, it is necessary to report the following additional clinical information to the administrator:
• Clinical diagnosis
• Ongoing therapeutic measures (hormone therapy, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, antibiotics intake)
• Localization of the biomaterial
