Description
The oral glucose tolerance test performed during pregnancy involves the determination of blood plasma glucose levels while fasting and at one and two hours after a carbohydrate load for the purpose of diagnosing carbohydrate metabolism disorders (gestational diabetes mellitus). Results of the examination are provided with a free physician's comment. At Helix, this examination is performed strictly at 24 weeks to 27 weeks and 6 days of gestation. The test is not performed on persons under 18 years of age. The test is not available at all Helix Centers. Please check the list of Centers where the test is performed with the Contact Center. It is required to have a referral from a physician for this examination. Before the GTT examination, a glucose express test (90-268 Express diagnostics of blood glucose level) must be performed.
