Description
The oral glucose tolerance test consists of determining plasma glucose levels while fasting and 2 hours after a carbohydrate load in order to diagnose various carbohydrate metabolism disorders (diabetes mellitus, impaired glucose tolerance, impaired fasting glucose). Test results are provided with a free physician's comment. The test is not performed at all Helix Centers. Please check the list of Centers where the test is performed with the Contact Center. At Helix, the test is not performed on individuals under 18 years of age or pregnant women; for pregnant women, there is a separate study – [06-259] Glucose tolerance test during pregnancy. Before the GTT study, an express glucose test must be performed (90-268 Express blood glucose diagnostics).
