Description
The vaginal microflora of healthy women of reproductive age includes a wide spectrum of microorganisms, among which both aerobic and anaerobic flora are present. Bacteria of the normal vaginal microflora, interacting closely with each other and with vaginal epithelial cells, determine high colonization resistance of the mucosa but can sometimes cause inflammatory processes of the urogenital tract. Given that the vaginal microflora, in addition to the protective function, performs a number of other important functions - enzymatic, vitamin-forming, immunostimulating, etc., it is usually considered as an indicator of the condition of the vagina. For a complex assessment of the state of vaginal microbiocenosis, data on the quantity and ratio of many types of microorganisms, which can significantly affect the state of lactobacilli as the main representative of the vaginal flora or cause inflammatory processes, are necessary. Within the framework of this analysis, the presence and ratio of all main representatives of microorganisms inhabiting the female urogenital tract in norm and pathology are investigated by microbiological methods.
