Description
A fraction of total cholesterol that transports it from peripheral tissues to the liver. HDL are beneficial lipoproteins that reduce the risk of developing atherosclerotic vascular lesions. The test is used for the diagnosis and monitoring of atherosclerosis and detection of lipid metabolism disorders in the liver.
