Description
A study of coenzyme Q10 levels in the blood, used to assess the balance of this compound in the body, as well as to monitor the treatment of patients with coenzyme Q10 preparations. Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) is a fat-soluble vitamin-like quinone, which is one of the main components of the mitochondrial respiratory chain and ensures cellular energy metabolism, as well as performing the functions of an antioxidant and cell membrane stabilizer. The level of coenzyme Q10 in the blood depends on factors such as the concentration of cholesterol and triglycerides in blood plasma, sex, age, and alcohol consumption. Recently, coenzyme Q10 deficiency in the body has been linked to the risk of developing hypertension, chronic heart failure, neurodegenerative diseases, and statin-associated myopathy. A study of the coenzyme Q10 concentration in the blood is carried out to assess the balance of this compound in the body, as well as during the treatment of these diseases using coenzyme Q10 preparations.
