Description
One of the isoforms of the enzyme creatine kinase, predominantly localized in muscle and nervous tissue (Muscle-Brain fraction). The enzyme is specific to heart tissue and has important diagnostic value in myocardial infarction. Enzyme activity in the first hours after the onset of infarction is one of the indicators determining the extent and depth of heart muscle damage.
