Description
Vanillylmandelic acid, homovanillic acid, and 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid are the end products of catecholamine metabolism, which are excreted from the body in the urine. Combined measurement of catecholamines and their metabolites in urine is used to diagnose pheochromocytoma.
